Imagine driving to a beautiful, lush green island. You know your destination, but to get there, you must travel through a desert.
One hour. Sand.
Two hours. More sand.
Four hours. Still desert.
Nothing around you suggests that this beautiful island even exists.
And that’s when doubt creeps in.
Maybe I got it wrong. Maybe I should turn back.
But here’s the thing.
The rearview mirror can ONLY show you where you’ve been. It cannot show you where you’re going.
Yet that’s exactly what we sometimes do in life.
We receive a leading. A vision. An inner knowing. We believe it enough to begin the journey.
Then we start looking at our circumstances and past experiences for evidence that our destination exists.
And when we don’t find it, we begin to doubt.
But the desert was never proof that the island wasn’t there. It was simply part of the road that led to it.
Imagine turning around four and a half hours into a five-hour journey.
Not because the destination didn’t exist, but because you allowed what you could see to override what you knew.
The destination is the leading. The journey is where your belief is tested.
So stop asking your rearview mirror to confirm your destination.
Keep your eyes on where you’re going.
What if you’re only thirty minutes away? 🌺
